The accessible android keyboard you can’t live without

The built in on-screen keyboard does a good job, but if you are like me, there are a few things that you wish you could change. I find that having to go to the “symbols” screen just to type in a number takes too many steps. I wish the stock keyboard made a louder sound when typing. I wish that the stock keyboard had a little bit bigger keys. Lastly, I wish that the stock keyboard had a mechanism for moving the cursor to make edits within the text, without disrupting my workflow.

I just found this great keyboard app that does all of the above and more.

This keyboard works fantastically with talkback. It is completely configurable. You can set the layout, size, spacing and color of keys and the keyboard itself. Most useful is the ability to set it so that the volume rocker can be used to control the cursor within the edit field. This is extremely convenient as it allows you to use the volume up to go back a character and the volume down to go forward a character within any edit field when the keyboard is visible. I also set it to show a number row above the letter row on the keyboard and give a much louder key press sound when typing.
