5 days of technology training for business professionals using adaptive technology on how to leverage technology and IT systems in the workplace – hosted at Lake Joe

On September 14, 2009, the CNIB Lake Joseph Centre will be hosting five days of technology training for users of adaptive technology
This training is open to all Canadians.

There are few opportunities to learn to leverage technology for use in
the workplace as a blind or low vision user. This training is not on
Assistive Technology but rather on mainstream technology and how to best
use it as a blind or low vision user.

Participants will be asked to provide input into the topics covered in each of the sessions to make sure that it is relevant to them.
Participants should feel comfortable using a computer and their AT.

The cost of attending covers primarily the cost of accommodations, food and a shuttle bus service from the toronto airport and train station.

See the invite here: CNIB Invitation

Q. Do participants need to bring their own technology?

A. Participants are encouraged to bring their own portable technology. While having technology at hand throughout the week is not essential, it is recommended so new skills learned can begin to be applied and initial familiarization challenges addressed with the assistance of the on-site experts.
