All measurements in these directions are approximate and have been calculated with a little guesswork and aren’t guaranteed to be accurate. I cannot guarantee that they are exact dimensions beyond a shadow of a doubt.
These instructions were created with the assumption that a person is staying at the Clarion hotel (right next door to the marriot) and provide orientation info for both the legal summit and CSUN conference itself. My question is why isn’t this automatically produced for attendees and why isn’t it part of planning for an inclusive event? Hopefully some of you find this useful.
CSUN ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE AT THE ANAHEIM MARRIOTT HOTEL
Current Location
Spot description: You are outside the main entrance of the Anaheim Marriott hotel. There are two sets of doors, both parallel and facing south. Enter through either door and walk 28 feet south. You are now in the main lobby.
Marriott Hotel Main Lobby

East
Direction Title: Front desk
Direction Description: To the front desk, walk 28 feet to the left, and then 16 feet right.
West
Direction Title: Washroom 1, Marquis Ballroom (Conference Centre)
Direction Description: To the (separate-gendered) washroom 1, walk 18 feet right, then walk 16 feet left, and then 70 feet right. The washroom doors are directly north on your right.
To the Marquis Ballroom, walk 18 feet right, then walk 16 feet left, and then 112 feet right. Then, walk 16 feet left, and 98 feet right. You are now at the Northeast corner of the Marquis ballroom. Walk 56 feet straight ahead, and three sets of doors are on your left (facing south). The Marquis Ballroom spans 194 feet long (north to south), and 132 feet wide (east to west).
Direction Title: Elite Ballroom- for material pick-up and check-in.
Direction Description: If you have pre-registered for the conference, you will need to go to the Elite Ballroom for material pick-up and check-in. From the hotel lobby, walk 18 feet right, then walk 16 feet left, and then 193 feet right. The elite ballroom is straight ahead.
Marquis Ballroom
Current Location
Spot Description: You are inside the Northeast doors of the Marquis ballroom, facing south. On the eastern wall of the ballroom, there are a total of 3 exits to go from the ballroom back to the hallway of the hotel. Every 28 feet, there are 2 sets of doors to exit the ballroom.
Direction Title: Washroom 2, Fire exits
Direction Description: To the nearest (separate-gendered) washroom 2, walk 29 feet towards the eastern wall of the Marquis Ballroom, and then 28 feet to the right. 2 sets of doors are on your left. Walk through the doors 20 feet, and then turn right and walk 140 feet south. The washrooms are directly to your right.
To the Fire exits (doors to outside), walk 29 feet towards the eastern wall of the Marquis ballroom, and then 28 feet to the right. 2 sets of doors are on your left. Walk through the doors 20 feet, and then turn right and walk 151 feet south. There are five doors running parallel along the southern wall of the hotel, straight ahead of you. Walk through these doors. In 6.5 feet straight ahead, there are another set of 5 doors running parallel to each other. Go through these doors and you are outside, on the southern facing yard of the hotel.
ANAHEIM MARRIOTT HOTEL TO THE CLARION HOTEL ANAHEIM RESORT

Spot Description: You are outside the main entrance of the Anaheim Marriott hotel, facing north.
Direction Title: Anaheim Marriott hotel to the Clarion Hotel Anaheim Resort
Direction Description: Walk 161 feet north, then turn right and walk 66 feet, and then walk 80 feet left. Turn right onto the sidewalk and continue walking 223 feet east. Turn right and walk 46 feet, and then turn left and walk 174 feet. On your left there is a rectangular water fountain. Turn right and the front entrance to the Clarion Hotel Anaheim Resort is straight ahead, with two sets of automatic doors parallel to each other.
CLARION HOTEL ANAHEIM RESORT TO THE SHERATON PARK HOTEL

Spot Description: You are outside the main entrance of the Clarion hotel, facing north.
Direction Title: Sheraton Park hotel to the Clarion Hotel Anaheim resort
Direction Description: Turn right and walk 215 feet east towards S Harbor Blvd to get onto the sidewalk, then turn left. You are now facing north. On your left is a grassy area about the same width as the sidewalk, and on your right is a 6 lane street. Walk 30 feet on the sidewalk in this direction (north). You will arrive at a 4-way intersection. When safe, continue straight, heading north, crossing the intersection and walking 0.14 mile. Turn left and walk 53 feet, crossing the sidewalk and entering the front driveway of the Sheraton Park Hotel. Then turn right and walk 263 feet north. The front entrance to the hotel will be on your left. It has two sets of automatic sliding doors running parallel to each other.

Spot Description: You are inside the main entrance of the Sheraton Park Hotel, facing west. The lobby bar is directly to your right.

Direction Title: Gift shop, Washroom 1.
Direction Description: To the gift shop, walk 33 feet west, then turn right and walk 82 feet. The gift shop is on your right.
To the washroom 1, walk 33 feet west, then turn right and walk 132 feet. The separate-gendered washrooms are straight ahead in the coffee shop.
West
Direction Title: Front desk
Direction Description: To the front desk, walk 33 feet west, then turn right and walk 17 feet north. The front desk is on your left.
South
Direction Title: Conference Event Rooms
Direction Description: To get to the boot camps in Park A, walk 33 feet west, then turn left and walk 13 feet, then turn right and walk 43 feet. To enter Park A, turn left here and enter the single door straight ahead. You will be entering at the back right corner of the room. Park A is 25 feet wide and 39 feet long. Inside, the tables are arranged in two semi-circles along the outer rim of the room. There is one aisle running up the middle of the room between the two sets of tables. The front of the room is at the south end.
To get to the boot camps in Park B, walk 33 feet west, then turn left and walk 13 feet, then turn right and walk 59 feet. To enter Park B, turn left here and enter through the double doors straight ahead. You will be entering in the middle of the back wall of the room. Park B is 27 feet wide and 39 feet long. Inside, the tables are arranged in two semi circles along the outer walls of the room. There is one aisle running up the middle of the room between the two sets of tables. If you enter through the doors and walk straight ahead, you will walk through this aisle. The front of the room is at the south end.
To get to the lunch buffet in Park C, walk 33 feet west, then turn left and walk 13 feet, then turn right and walk 80 feet. To enter Park C, turn left here and enter the single door straight ahead. You will be entering the back left corner of the room. Park C is 25 feet wide and 39 feet long. The buffet tables are along the western wall, to your right. Walk 6 feet straight (south), then turn right and walk 17 feet west. The buffet tables are on your left and proceed south.
To get to the main session in the Plaza Ballroom, walk 33 feet west, then turn left and walk 13 feet, then turn right and walk 99 feet west. Turn left and walk 93 feet south. The double-door entrance to the Plaza Ballroom is on your left. The Plaza Ballroom is 68 feet wide and 78 feet long. When you enter, directly to your right are circular tables with 10 chairs at each table. From west to east, there are two rows of three tables, and then one row of two tables at the eastern end.
35 feet east of the doorway (straight ahead) are 4 columns of tables, with 5 rows. Each table has 4 chairs. If you walk directly east you will pass directly through the middle of the first and second column. The rest of the columns continue to your right (south). The front of the room is at the east end.
Plaza Ballroom
Current Location
Spot Description: You are inside the Plaza Ballroom where the main session is being held, at the double door entrance on the western wall. You are facing west.
Direction Title: Washroom 2, Fire exits 1 and 2
Direction Description: To get to Washroom 2, walk 36 feet west, out the western doors of the Plaza Ballroom. You will enter the El Prado Foyer, then turn right and walk 3 feet north. The separate-gendered Washroom 2 is on your left, with the women’s on the left and men’s to the right.
To get to Fire exit 1, go out the western doors of the Plaza Ballroom walk 59 feet south, then turn right and walk 4 feet west. The doors for emergency exit 1 are straight ahead.
To get to Fire exit 2, go out the western doors of the Plaza Ballroom walk 33 feet south, then turn right and walk 16.5 feet west. The doors for emergency exit 2 are straight ahead.
Park A
Current Location
Spot Description: You are inside Park A where boot camp sessions are being held, at the single door on the northern wall, facing north.
Direction Title: Washroom 2, Fire exits 3 and 4
Direction Description: To get to Washroom 2, walk through the northern door of Park A and turn left. Walk 57 feet west passing the entrances to Park B and C, then turn left and walk 73 feet south. Turn right and walk 36 feet west, entering the El Prado Foyer. The separate gendered Washroom 2 is straight ahead, with the women’s on the left and men’s to the right.
To get to Fire Exit 3, walk through the northern door of Park A and turn left. Walk 66 feet west, passing the entrances to Park B and C. The doors for emergency exit 3 are straight ahead.
To get to Fire Exit 4, walk through the northern door of Park A and turn left. Walk 64 feet west, passing the entrances to Park B and C. Turn left and walk 17 feet south, then turn right and walk 16 feet west. The doors for emergency exit 4 are straight ahead.
